Our community is important to us

We know how important friends and family are and sometimes they need help. Charity work is one of the ways we can do our part in community.

For the last two years we have support Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan improves the lives of people affected by cancer by providing practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. Their impressive ambition is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer. We felt that this was a worthy cause to sponsor.

The 2011 Walk in the Park event was a three or a six mile walk around Althorp Estate on Sunday 8 May. All the money raised from the walk will go towards supporting the £1.55 million appeal in Northamptonshire to build the new Macmillan Haematology Suite, to treat individuals with cancers of the blood, at Northampton General Hospital.

The day was fantastic and the Chelton Brown staff was there right on the finish line so that we could congratulate the walkers and give them their goody bags.

The start of the walk was fantastic, I was right up the front with cheering when Bruce Reihanna from Saints Rugby Club opened the walk by cutting the starting line ribbon. The walk itself had a great atmosphere.

It had a real community feel as we walked through the stunning grounds at Althorp, everyone was smiling and happy to be there and talking with people they have never met.

Chelton Brown is pleased to be help this remarkable charity and will look forward to next year.
