House prices in the East Midlands

A lot of homeowners like to keep an eye on how the market is progressing and are usually curious as to how much their property value may have increased over the years. A recent survey carried out a property spotlight and took a closer look at the East Midlands region.

Their figures are based on the latest data from the Land Registry House Price Index which helps to form a picture of the regions housing markets. A market snapshot shows:

  • The district with the largest market is Northampton which saw £843m worth of transactions in the year to January 2017.
  • This was followed by Charnwood with £535m worth of sales over the same period.
  • The district with the highest overall averagehouseprice was South Northamptonshire where prices sit at £301,600, which is 31% above the national average.
  • The market with the highest number of transactions was Northampton with 4,351 sales occurring during the period.
