Credit Control

The potential impact of rent arrears on a landlord can be devastating. It can seriously impact their ability to pay the mortgage and if left unchecked can spiral out of control causing a great deal of stress. Remember, only a court may end a tenancy agreement on the basis of non-payment of rent and even then, vacant possession is only guaranteed following two months of accrued debt and the grant of a warrant for possession

Chelton Brown have a strict credit control procedure which we are proud to announce is well below the average percentage of rent arrears.

As soon as your tenant(s) fails to pay we will contact them and speak to them about it. Maybe it is a mistake by their bank, in which case this can be sorted quickly. However if they are in financial difficulties the sooner we know about this the better. Our aim is to keep you informed if any problems like this do arise at all times. If necessary we will contact the tenant to agree a payment plan that both tenant and landlord find acceptable to avoid legal costs and court action.

Please see our service levels including our fully managed Platinum service that guarantees your rent.
