Lettings During Lockdown

I am sure we were all hoping that by the beginning of 2021 things with regards to the pandemic would have improved.  Unfortunately, with this latest stricter lockdown that is not the case.  However, Letting and Estate agents are allowed to continue working, providing increased safety measures are put in place. This is the process Chelton Brown follow when carrying out viewing for lettings.

·       We only view empty properties

·       The viewer must first have seen a video tour and be certain that the property meets their requirements.

·       A COVID-19 questionnaire must have been completed and approved.

·       At the viewing a mask must be worn and a maximum of 2 viewers at a time.

·       Our member of staff will open the property and wait outside.  Any questions must be put to the office by phone.

·       All referencing and negotiations are done online.

·       These measures have been implemented so everyone stays safe and to be compliant.

Working in these difficult times has also meant turning to improved technology.  With less staff in the office and more working from home, online communications have been invaluable.  Going forwards I am sure these processes will be improved and retained.

All the above put aside, it has been such a difficult time for everyone.  I miss the face-to-face contact with my colleagues and clients.  You can’t get to know someone as well via an email conversation or zoom meeting.  Whilst we are embracing all the changes that are needed to survive, let’s hope the vaccinations that are being rolled out and lockdown  brings us some normality before too long.  I can’t wait to have a catch up over a cup of tea, with clients, colleagues, friend and family.  Stay safe and well and let’s beat this virus by adhering to the rules.
