Book a Property Valuation

Northampton Landlords

 Here's how to avoid a £30K fine!

From 1st April 2021 Landlords could find themselves in hot water if they do not have a valid EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) in place. Local Authorities may impose a financial penalty of up to £30,000 on Landlords who are in breach of their legal duties. EICR's last for varying lengths of time depending on how long an Electrician is willing to certify it for - however, in most cases this is 5 years. An EICR in Daventry should cost somewhere in the region of £150 inc VAT so in terms of value for money over 5 years, it's money well spent. If a property fails an EICR, it is a legal requirement to have the remedial works carried out, as detailed on the report, to ensure the property meets the required standard - so be aware when budgeting for the certification.

Is arranging an EICR still on your ‘to do list’?  If so, we would be very happy to organise this on your behalf, to ensure you are compliant and to avoid any penalty charges that could be imposed. If this is something we can help you with, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
